
Resources for Regulation
This unique program, developed to support children’s wellbeing and empower them to self-soothe, as well as have greater awareness of and connection to themselves.

Children are welcomed into the space with their individual needs respected and are invited to explore and express through movement, play, creative art, sound and song.
Child-directed, independent, sensory play is offered as well as opportunity for group engagement (and in turn, co-regulation) through discussion and games.
Children are guided through somatic (body-based) practices to use during emotionally heightened times and are given insight into how their brain and body responds. With time and repetition, these practices become familiar, felt and known inner-resources.
When children are encouraged to use their inner resources consistently, they develop confidence and trust in their innate ability to navigate intense emotions and bodily sensations. They develop self-affirming responses to challenging situations and manage the peaks and troughs of life with a greater sense of flow. The program’s intention is not to create a constant feeling of calm, ease and relaxation in the child (although calm, ease and relaxation often do result from the sessions). It is instead to allow them to feel all that arises from within and know that they have the tools to handle it.

Isla has just conquered a huge milestone! She went to camp very bravely for 3 days. She was very nervous about it for almost a year. She went to bed the night before a bit anxious. We went through her resources for regulation book before bed, she instantly was beaming & content to sleep. Woke up the next morning & didn’t even have a tear. She acknowledged she had a few butterflies in her belly, but she had her laminated printouts in her bag so she felt prepared to face the adventure. Her teachers were excited for her to have this resource on hand & for her to possibly help lead a regulation session for others that might need it. She was truly empowered walking into this little adventure.
So thank you for helping our girl find her confidence. Grateful for all you do.

Heidi joined Maranda’s Resources for Regulation Program for the second time and describes her Mondays with Maranda as one of her favourite parts of the week. Maranda puts so much love and effort into creating this program and it shows. From the actual beautifully run classes to the handouts and follow up emails, we now have so many tools for Heidi to work through her day to day emotions to support herself and also to support us as a family. We are truly grateful.

We cannot thank you enough for the love, creativity and energy you pour into this program. As I have shared with you, Coco truly loves coming to yoga. It is the most meaningful and beautiful thing she does. The other day she started singing to herself "Coco you are brave. Coco you are kind. Coco you are loved." I joined her and we took it in turns to sing to each other using different words. She would sing "mummy you are calm" and then I would reciprocate. I was such a joyous moment.
